When you used to have a damaged or leaking pipe, one of the worst parts was the excavation and the associated mess to remove the pipe and replace it with something new. The disruption was huge, the clean-up was a nightmare and there weren't many other options available... not something that anyone looks forward to!
Some clever people however got together and realised there must be a better option, which is where CIPP pipe relining came from. It is a practical and effective solution to leaking and damaged pipes, without the considerable excavation mess and disruptive process. In this article, we discuss CIPP pipe relining, the process and its benefits. If you have any questions, give Reline Solutions a call at 0403 355 550 and we can answer any queries you may have.
CIPP stands for Cured in Place Pipe Lining .
CIPP pipe relining is a no-dig technology which involves inserting a liner into an old pipe to fix broken, leaking or cracked plumbing. It is one of the most commonly used methods to repair existing piping and has many different applications.
The CIPP pipe relining process involves the impregnation of a flexible pipe lining with specially formulated resin, which is then pushed into a damaged or ageing pipe. Hot water or steam is then put into the pipe, which expands the CPP lining and ensures it sticks to the inside of the old pipe. This method results in a 'pipe within a pipe' scenario, as seen below.
There are a few advantages to consider when looking at CIPP pipe relining:
CIPP pipe relining has the ability to rehabilitate pipes that range in size (diameter) from 0.1 to 2.8 meters (2 - 110 inches). It can be used in commercial, industrial or residential settings as well.
